Robert C. Rauner of Riley Street, Old Forge, formerly of Springbrook Avenue, Moosic, died Tuesday at the Mercy Hospital, Scranton Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine Werner Rauner .
He settled in Old Forge 15 months ago.
He was a 1928 graduate of the former Moosic High School and received a degree in accounting from the former Buckley College in Harrisburg.
Before his retirement, he was employed as a social worker for the Pennsylvania State Department of Welfare. Before that, he was the owner and operator of the Greyhound Bus Terminal in Wilkes-Barre. He was also employed as an accountant for the Greyhound Corporation.
He was a member of the Moosic Lodge F&AM and a former member and treasurer of the Moosic Lions Club.
He was a member of the Moosic Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Moosic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doretta O. Billington Rauner , in 1994; a great-great-grandson, Mark A. Ferrett; eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are daughters, Roberta Ferrett, R.N., with whom he resided; Muriel Smailes, Springbrook; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with services by the Rev. Dr. Susan J. Ezell, pastor of the Moosic Presbyterian Church, Moosic.
Interment will be in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
