Daisy Kay Sartor, 97, of Pearl, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2020 in Brandon, Mississippi.
She was born in Raleigh, Mississippi on December 1st, 1922. She married her husband, Oscar Walter Sartor in 1939 and began a long and happy marriage of 45 years. They went on to have 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a resident of Pearl, Mississippi for over 65 years and a founding member of First Baptist Church of Pearl.
She is survived by her children, Betty Langford (Benji) of Brandon, MS, Jan Baker (Boo) of Brandon, MS, and Tony Sartor (Kris) of Spring, TX; and daughter-in-law, Candace K. Sartor of Pearl, MS.
Her grandchildren: Susan Luckett (Mark)of Clinton, MS, Tonya Foster (Michael) of Clinton, Jeffrey Murray of Clinton, MS, Melissa Langford of Brandon, MS, Michelle Langford of Brandon, MS, Brian Baker of Ridgeland, MS, Dustin Baker of Birmingham, AL, Elizabeth Langford (Chris) of Florence, MS, Jacob Sartor and Carlee Sartor of Spring, TX.
Her great-grandchildren: Kyle Geoghegan (Mariana) of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Brianna Hawthorne of Clinton, MS, Baron Foster of Clinton, MS, Simms Baker, Vivian Baker and Charles Baker of Madison, MS, Malloy Baker, Mary Myers Baker and Chapel Baker of Birmingham, AL and Alexis Langford of Pearl, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Cordia Blakeney of Raleigh, MS, sisters Emma Blakeney Blackwell, Myrtle Blakeney, Hattie Atwood, Mae Jernignan, Wilma Blakeney and Ondean Murray, and children, Carol Sartor Murray, Sandi Sartor, and Walter Donny Sartor.
She was a kind, loving, Christian woman. She instilled a love for Jesus in each one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The love she showed her family and strangers was and is their greatest treasure. She loved to cook, work in her yard and serve Jesus in the community. Her Christmas light displays were known all over the county and she won numerous City of Pearl Yard of the Month and Christmas awards. She will forever be missed and held close to all of our hearts.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Brandon Nursing and Rehab and Baldwin Lee in Pearl for their efforts, care and dedication.
