A very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a homemaker, she died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in Gonzales. She was 83, a resident of Prairieville and a native of Ventress. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Roads, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Greg Daigle. Interment in Chenal Cemetery, Lakeland. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Thompson Brown Jr., Prairieville; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Shari Paxton, Dutchtown; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Buck" Paxton; parents, Sam and Nettie Gremillion Chustz; and grandson, Richard Paxton Jr. Pallbearers will be Richard and Troy Paxton, Thompson Brown Jr., Scott Landry, Randy Delaneuville and Chase Nicosia. Honorary pallbearers are Brennan, Lacie, Darci, Darah, Terri and Randi. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville. She is loved and will be missed very much.
