Benjamin I. Cross, 62, a prominent Harrisburg rancher and farmer, died at a Scottsbluff hospital Sunday night.
He was born Jan. 24, 1903 at Baxter, Iowa. He came to Banner County with his parents in 1910. He attended school at Gabe Rock School near Harrisburg, and later helped his father in farming and ranching operation.
He married Alice Bernice Hottell at Kimball March 12, 1930. They have lived in Banner County since their marriage, ranching and farming near Harrisburg.
He was a member of the Nebraska Stock Growers Association, and the Farm Bureau of Banner County.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Keith of HArrisburg; one daughter, Mrs. Roger McGowan Sr. of Harrisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Peterson and Mrs. Carrie Johnson, both of Harrisburg; two brothers, John and Harvey, both of Harrisburg; and seven grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded him in death.
