William “Bill” Dale Braatz age 67, of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Bill was born on August 14, 1948 to Orley and Avenell Braatz in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School he attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and then the Madison Area Technical College and received a degree in Land Surveying.

On August 4, 1973 he married Paulette Steuernagel. They lived in Beaver Dam and Bill worked as a corrections officer in Waupun. In 1985 they moved to Amery, Wisconsin and he continued working in corrections in New Richmond and then Black River Falls. He retired in 1998. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing but his true passion was polka music and his German heritage. Time spent with granddaughter McKenzie was always very special.

William is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; a son, Eric; a daughter, Ariannah, a granddaughter, McKenzie; a sister, Carol (Roland) Bittner. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ken.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, July 1st at the Williamson~White Funeral Home, 222 Harriman Avenue North Amery, Wisconsin and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
