From 1959 through October of 1986 he taught at Compton Junior high school. He retired in 1986, moved to Quincy Illinois, and taught as a substitute teacher at Quincy Junior high school.
Donald Cravens Aleshire passed away 2 September 1991 at his Quincy Illinois residence. His brother Glenn Aleshire predeceased him. Mr. Aleshire's first wife, Frances (Brown) Aleshire, passed away 10 October 1979.
Reverend Bruce Rice presided over the funeral held at a funeral parlor in Quincy Illinois. Interment took place at Rosemount cemetery in Plymouth Illinois.
