His Spartanburg Will was recorded 21 May 1821, Will Book B, Page 21, Box 10, Package 8. Wm. Lancaster O.S.D.

Richard Fryer married (1) Rachel Holland. She was born 3 Aug 1753 in Maryland and died abt 1795 in Laurens Co., SC. She was the daughter of Abraham Holland. He married (2) Rachel Nichols born 13 Apr 1766 in Prince George Co., Maryland and died 27 Apr 1831 in SC. she was daughter of George Nichols and Eleanor Trail.

"Our ancestor Richard Fryer probably moved to SC with the Trail and Holland Families shortly after the death of his father (John Fryer)in 1778. He first settled in Laurens County near the Holland family. His first land deed was 17 July 1784 for 300 acres on a branch of Duncan Creek below the Indian Boundary..." in what became Laurens County. Then he purchased a plantation containing 150 acres on a branch of Enoree River called Cedar Shoals Creek.
