Ida Schielke MARON was born December 6, 1884 in the village of Blandau, in what was formerly known as Prussia (now Germany). She was a daughter of Christian and Julianna Schielke . Ida emigrated to the United States with her parents in 1888, locating in the city of Buffalo, Erie County, New York where she worked as a seamstress. About 1900 the Schielke family left city life behind and moved to a farm on Lower East Hill Road in the Town of Boston, New York. In 1910, Ida married William Maron at St. Martin's Lutheran Church on Cole Road in Boston, New York. She and William (known as Will) raised five children: Harold, Jerry, Doris, Walter and Beatrice. During the great Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1917-1918, Ida suddenly took ill and sadly died on October 28, 1918 at the age of 31. At the time of her death, her youngest child was only 3 months old.
