Daughter of Henry Burgess and Elizabeth Gaden/Gaydon - wife of Joseph Gillespie. They married in Tiverton, Devon, England on 24 Dec 1859. In 1862 Joseph and Susan immigrated to the U.S. with their daughter Susan and son, William Henry. They eventually ended up in Detroit, Michigan and had two more daughters, Elizabeth and Louise. She was widowed in 1908, but lived to be 91 years old.
