Mr. Armstrong was born in Shrewsbury, son of the late Aaron A. and Sophie Shutts Armstrong. For 18 years he was farm manager for Mrs. Payne Whitney at Greentree Farm, Lincroft. He also built and organized Whitney Farm interests in Lexington, Ky., with his uncle, the late Arthur W. Shutts.
He and his wife operated a riding stable on Oak Hill Rd. Mr. Armstrong served in the Motor Transport Corps in World War I. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Ida Riette Pichler.
Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Adams Memorial Home. Rev. Frederick McQuade rector of Christ Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery.
