By Patty Owens, Vicki's sister
I'm scared. I didn't realize how much time has passed. I began that horrible shaking (Parkinson's) and it hit me around the same time of the dark, cold morning-- I didn't want my sister to go away! Where will she go? Where will her sweet face smile? She, who will be okay and free, where there is beauty and peace, love, laughter, smiling beauty. Long, dark, silky hair, she's taking pictures of her babies and placing them in photo book. The wind is gently blowing through the pine trees. The moon is shining brightly, speaking of love, quiet and sacred. Reaching back and now it's today. I sense you are going away. Sister from Stonewall, this is your sister from Lawton. I'm shaking and tears are flowing down the river out to sea.
Vicki, my dear Vicki, call me.

Vicki Lynn Byram was born in Winnfield Louisiana January.26, 1949 to Alton m Owens and Patsy Elaine (Longino) Owens. She was the first born of five daughters. when she and her sisters were young children, they and their parents moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where they grew up and attended school where Vicki was a straight-A student and a teacher's pet. When Vicki was older, the teacher elected Vicki to teach the class whenever the teacher had to step out. she was very responsible, kind, sweet, honest, just a beautiful person inside and out.. when Vicki was still pretty little she would get up every morning when it was still dawn for everyone else woke up, and would quietly read her little Golden books, quietly turning the pages, reading her sweet little stories--so precious Vicky grew up into a very beautiful young lady, long dark silky hair, beautiful face, beautiful smile, very studious, very active in church, had some cool cars including a Gran Torino and a 1967 GTO. Vicki later met her husband, Jeffrey Allen Byram, and they had two beautiful daughters: Lyla Casey Byram and Stacey Elaine Byram. Vicki was not only a wonderful wife and hardworking mom, but also worked managing Reeves Marine center and later added to that was Ashton's Furniture store and a Texaco service station. What a hard-working, beautiful lady! A great wife, mom, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. A true steel magnolia!
