Charlotte A. Brand nee Martin of Cuba, MO was born on April 17, 1943 in St. Louis, MO to Fred Franklin Martin and Martha Caroline (Setzer) Martin. She passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 in her home at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 4 days.
Charlotte grew up in Cherryville, MO. She married Joe Richard Brand in Advance, MO on December 3, 1960 and to this union four sons were born. She accepted the Lord as her Savior and attended Assembly of God Church in Steelville, MO. Charlotte drove a school bus for a couple of years when her children were young. She trained as a florist and worked in that profession in Salem, MO for a short time. She then attended beauty school and owned and operated her own salon for over 30 years in Steelville, MO and Cuba, MO. Her hobbies included horseback riding, jewelry making, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She made necklaces, bracelets, house shoes, afghans, scarves, hats, etc. for her family and friends. She also loved working outside with her flowers, especially light blue morning glories.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Martha Martin; stepfather Wayne Wright; husband Joe Brand; mother-in-law Hazel (Roy) Hutson; father-in-law Floy (Ozella) Brand; son Kelly Joe Brand; granddaughter Natalie Faith Brand; brother Stanley (Berneal) Martin; and brother-in-law Jerry (Carol) Brand.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 10AM - 1PM at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO with funeral service immediately following at 1PM with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Burial will be at Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville, MO.
Memorials may be given to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
