Buster Gwin, 90, of Bessemer, Al., passed away June 18, 2020. He retired with 38 years of service with the City of Bessemer, with 31 years serving as Superintendent of Cedar Hill Cemetery. After his retirement, he worked for Valhalla Cemetery, and Peoples Chapel Funeral Home since 2001 when it was opened. Buster loved to dance, he was an avid clogger and square dancer. Buster was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Valcie Gwin; brother Richard “Pete” Gwin; and sisters Audrey Britt and Inez Nichols. He is survived by his wife Marie Gwin; children Michael Gwin (Gwen), Marlin Jordan (Diane), and Keith Jordan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchilden, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2020, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11:30 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Joe Jordan officiating.
