Stella Faye McClard Owens was born on Oct. 31, 1937, in Arp, Texas to John Dee and Edna Giles McClard. She attended Gaston and Arp schools. Stella lived in Carthage most of her life and attended Northside Christian Center. She worked at Joe’s Café in Carthage for many years. She was preceded in death by her brothers, “Big John” McClard and Douglas McClard.
