He was born March 19, 1917 in Canoncito de Las Manuelitas , N.M., to the late Lucas Lujan and Isabelita Salas Lujan.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances Lujan; sons Sal Lujan and wife Helen, Robert Lujan and wife Margie, Danny Lujan and wife Olivia, Benny Lujan Jr. and Fred Lujan, all of Las Vegas; daughters Irene Lopez and husband Ernest and Pita Vasquez and husband Louis, all of Santa Fe, Dorothy Aragon and husband Gerald of Denver, Susan Valdez of Albuquerque, Ruby Lujan, Rose Ortiz and husband Ruben, Julia Tarango and husband Ismael and Sherrie Lujan, all of Las Vegas; sister Rosario of Espanola; sisters-in-law Antonia Lujan and Matilde Lujan of Brighton, Colo., and Bernadita Lujan, Abenicia Lujan and Elvira Lujan, all of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7:30 from Rogers Chapel and also Thursday evening at 7:30 from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: John Lujan, Anthony Sena, Louie Vasquez, Ramiro Garza, Ronnie Lopez, Raymond Garza, Henry Vasquez and Bobby Joe Lujan.
He will lie in state at the Rogers Chapel all day Thursday, where family and friends may call.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Mortuary.
