Sacramento Daily Union, Nov. 16, 1871. "In San Jose, November 13th, Phebe Jane, wife of Gordon G. German, aged about 28 years." She was buried at Oak Hill in the Common Ground (Potter's Field) according to the Oak Hill Cemetery Death Certificates Index by History San Jose. She was a native of Canada and died of typhoid fever. Year of birth estimated from her age.
