SAMUEL W. DUDLEY DIES AFTER OVER A YEAR'S ILLNESS
Was Lifelong Resident of DeKalb County: Leaves Widow and Three Daughters.
Samuel W. Dudley passed away at his farm home five miles southwest of Garrett Friday morning at 1 o'clock from a complication of diseases. He had been ill a year and a half.
Mr. Dudley was a lifelong resident of this county, following the occupation of farming throughout his life. He was born Dec. 15, 1855.
He was married to Ceretta Bell June 7, 1885, and to them were born three daughters.
He is survived by his widow and the daughters, Mrs. William Balliet, who has been living at the home of her parents, Mrs. Floyd Haag and Mrs. Clyde Burton of Fort Wayne, by two sisters, Mrs. Cevilla Grube of Auburn. and Mrs. Winfield Gorrell of LaOtto, and by four brothers, John of Kendallville, Charles of Kentucky, Joseph of Washington and Richard of LaOtto.
The funeral was held at the Methodist Protestant church of Butler Center Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Rateliff officiated. Interment was made at Cedar Chapel.
