Ada Jo lived most of her life within the Rockwall County area and Dallas, Texas..
She was a 1946 graduate of Rockwall High School..She worked as an accountant for several corporations in and around Dallas..

Ada Jo lived in several locations, including Covington, Ky, Houston, TX, Dallas TX, Royse City, TX, Fate, TX, Rockwall, TX, and for the last 2 1/2 years, in San Diego, Ca.

After retirement from Exxon/Mobile corporation, she and her husband, Clovis Phillips, built a home in Fate, Texas, where she lived until moving back to Rockwall, TX..

Ada Jo was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Rockwall (where she taught Sunday School for many years), in Dallas, and also in Royse City..

Ada Jo enjoyed traveling, going to plays at Rockwall Community Playhouse, her family, and all her friends, especially Virginia (Sis) Vaughn..She was always eager to volunteer for Vacation Bible School, Methodist Lay leader at the yearly church conference, and any other function that needed her help..

She will be dearly missed by her surviving family and friends..

Ada Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Phillips, her son Charles Stevenson, killed in Vietnam in 1968, her son Michael Stevenson, her parents O.J. and Elsie Amis, her brother, Leon Amis, a stepson, George Phillips, and a host of close family and friends..

Ada Jo is survived by daughter's Drendia Ibarra (Drew), and Cheryl Stevenson, and sons Donald Stevenson (Dolores) and Larry Stevenson (Rusti), Step-daughter Charlotte Phillips Proctor..She is also survived by grandchildren Brian Stevenson, Kelli Stevenson Kier, and Clay Stevenson, Trevor Ibarra, Erin Ibarra Gonzales, James Proctor, along with 6 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, a host of cousins, including first cousins Helen Joyce Gregory and Bill Ellis, and a host of many friends, including special friends Royce and Kathy Davis.

Services will be held at Restland Funeral Home , 13005 Greenville Ave
Dallas, Texas 75243
Ph-469-925-1436, and will be officiated by Pastor Chris Everson of First United Methodist Church in Royse City, Texas..

Visitation on Tuesday May 26th, 2020
at 9:00am, followed by the service at 10:00am on that same morning..
