Alba Maria Benigno, 82 of Chicago, IL Alba was greeted by God at the gates of heaven on June 13, 2020. Alba was born February 22, 1938 in Piaggione Italy to the union of Luigi Anichini and Adelina Paladini. Alba was the third of eleven children. At the age of 16 Alba boarded the S. S. Constitution ship sailing the Americas in July 19th, 1954 with her siblings Luigi, Armida, Mauro, Eugenio, & Ubaldo. Arriving in New York then traveling to Chicago. Later Alba met and married Carmello Benigno. Alba is survived by her former husband Carmello “Carl” Benigno, Two children Lisa Benigno-Felty (Ivan) Felty and Paul Benigno, Two grandsons Michael Praznowski and Matthew Praznowski. Three sisters and seven brothers include Armida Cinellli, Late Mouro Anichini, Pier Luigi (Sofia) Anichini, Anna Maria (Late Alvero) Baque, Eugenio (Mary Ann) Anichini, Ubaldo Anichini, Renzo Anichini, Dino Anichini, Late Piero Anichini, Grazia Angela (Jim) Mercurio. Many nieces, nephews, Great nieces and nephews, family and friends. Through the years Alba enjoyed many careers including sewing draperies, being a cashier for Carson Pirie Scott & Company and Food service for United Air lines. Alba enjoyed many things in life. She enjoyed traditional Italian songs but was a lover of all genre of music including Glen Campbell, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, county music Like Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson, She could always be caught watching The Price is Right or Rachel Ray and she never relinquished the tv remote control. She saw Gods beauty just sitting and working in her garden.
Visitation will be at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home 585 Sheridan Road Highwood, Il on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 10 am until the time of service 12:30. Internment at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery 8600 N Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL
