Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Francis Harper of Elmira; grandsons and wives, Christopher and Mary Harper of Binghamton, Cameron and Mary Harper of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughters and husbands, Cynthia and Jack Hale of Rochester, NY, Constance and David Bundens of Woodbury, NJ, Catheleen and Michael D'Ambrosio of Glenmont, NY; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Anthony) Stachowski of Elmira; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; close friend, Bernice Isaacs of Horseheads, NY.

Joseph was a retired Switchman for the former D.L. & W. Railroad, after 40 years of service. A member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Chemung Valley Senior Citizens Group. He was a veteran of WWI US Navy.

Family will receive relatives and friends at the Don Kalec Funeral Home, Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Monday, 9:15am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Casimir's Church. Interment, St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
