– Silas Frownfelter – Silas Merit Frownfelter, Sr, 80, of New Bloomfield RD1, died at his home on Saturday morning, August 15, following a lingering illness. The deceased is survived by his wife, Edith Mary Acker Frownfelter; two daughters, Mrs Harold Wilson, of Newport, and Mrs Lester Warner of New Bloomfield, RD1; four sons, Russell F, of New Bloomfield, RD; Amos A and Silas M Jr, both of Newport, RD, and William H, at home; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 pm at the funeral home on West Main street, New Bloomfield, with the Rev Clarence F Johnson officiating. Burial was made in the New Bloomfield Cemetery.
