Sylvester---Gladys Irene Aultman Jennings, 89, of Sylvester, died Friday, December 10, 2004 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Poulan Freewill Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating.
Born on April 8, 1915 in Worth County, Mrs. Jennings was the daughter of the late William Henry Aultman Sr. and Fannie Gray Aultman. She was a homemaker and lived in Worth County all of her life. She was a charter member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Sylvester and was a member of the Poulan Freewill Baptist church, where she taught Sunday School.
Mr. and Mrs. Jennings were married January 25, 1947 and would have celebrated their 58th Anniversary in January.
Survivors include her husband, James T. Jennings Sr. of Sylvester; two sons, James T. (Jim) Jennings Jr. and wife Brenda and Robert Wayne Jennings and wife, Kathy, all of Sylvester; five sisters, Fannie Mae Smith of Tifton, Lorene Fambro of Sylvester, Mae Phillips and Maurice Shearer both of Lithonia, and Ilone Hufstetler of Poulan; a brother, Linwood Aultman of Poulan, grandchildren, Melissa Kelly (Oscar), Claudia Johnson (Robert), Alicia, Wendy, Amanda, Ashley and James T. (Jamie) Jennings III; and great-grandchildren, Blayne and Garrett Kelly, Tucker and Trent Johnson, and Malachi Jennings.
The family will receive friends today (Monday) 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home and will be at the residence of Melissa Kelly, Sylvester.
