Pauline C. (Dawson) Jackson, 79, of Belmont passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at a local hospital.

She was born on June 16, 1924, in Waltham, Mass., the daughter of John and Mary (Orr) Gunn.

Born in Waltham, Mass., she resided in Allston, Mass., until moving to Belmont with her family in 1962. She worked for the Raytheon Defense Factory in Massachusetts for several years until she married and stayed home to raise her children.

Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her first husband, William Dawson Sr.; two children, Mary Dawson and Gary Dawson; sister, Alice; twin brother, Paul; and brothers, George and John.

She is survived by her husband, Harold A. Jackson of Belmont; eight children, William Dawson Jr. and his wife, Lauri, of Belfast, Richard Dawson and his wife, Valerie, of Cumberland, Deborah Jackson and her husband, Hartley, of Belmont, Lauretta Sawyer and her husband, Terry, of Swanville, Edward Dawson and his wife, Lisa, of Rumford, Patricia Dawson of Knox, Suzanne Andreas and her husband, Robert, of Mohawk, N.Y., and Joan Jackson and her husband, Dana, of Belfast; 3 sisters: Mae Seals of Roslindale, Mass., Margaret Smith of Stoughton, Mass., and Anna Champlain of Warren, Ohio; 22 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Robert Dawson, Erika and Ryan Dawson, Nicholas and Jennifer Jackson, Nathaniel and Jessica Sawyer, Heidi, Kyle and Gabrielle Dawson, Jeremy and Sylvia Richards, Andrew, Mary Beth, and Daniel (Dawson) Myers, Carolyn, Kathryn, Megan, Robert, and Mary Andreas, and Dana Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Destiny Richards and Harmony Dawson.

Friends are invited to attend a visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Morrill Baptist Church, Morrill, with the Rev. Rob Andreas officiating.

Interment will follow at the Pease Cemetery, Lincolnville Road, Belmont. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to the Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County, PO Box 772, Belfast, ME 04915.
