William Franklin Galloway, Sr., age 80, of Palestine passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at his residence. A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-7:30pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home. A funeral service will not be held as requested by Mr. Galloway prior to his death.

He was born in Anderson County, Texas on April 25, 1934, to Walter and Edith Oldham Galloway. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mr. Galloway retired from the Texas Department of Corrections and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dub Galloway; and a sister, Elleen Adair.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Molly Davis Galloway of Palestine; sons, Bill Galloway of Lovelady and Brad Galloway of Ben Wheeler; grandson, Brandon Galloway; sister, Doris McDonald and husband Greg of Deer Park; sisters-in-law, Gloria Galloway and Shirley Newsome both of Palestine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
