Last child and daughter of Ely Franklin Hamilton b May 22, 1838 d Feb 5, 1909 Ohio (son of Isaac Hamilton & Mary Ann)& Emily Frances Lea b 1849 d Jan 3, 1890 (dau of Nathaniel Lee and Emily Wells). She was a sister to May, Emily, Alexander, Susan, Mary, Frank, Willie, Jenny, Sarah, Edward, Albert, Beulah and Nattie. Her mother died short after her birth and went to live with her Aunt Serepta "Sep" near Pendleton Co. Ky. She married Lawrence Palmer and had 4 children: Elmer Lee (Martha Evelyn VanDeren), Vi (Slim) Chandler, Betty (Charlie) Kemp and Gladys (Jesse) Phillips. "Ma" as she was affectionately called by her family. She was a loving, affectionate, and devoted mother. She was an example of a true Christian lady. Do not stand at my grave/I am not there/I do not sleep/I am a thousand winds that blow/I am the diamond glints in the snow/I am sunlight on ripened grain/I am a gentle autumn rain/when you awaken in the morning, hush/I am the swift up lifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight/I am the soft stars that shine at night/do not stand on my grave and cry/I am not there/I did not die. ("Ma" was my husband's paternal grandmother).
