Almira (Myra) Biebel Holznecht

Santa Ana, CA - On June 8, 2020, Almira (Myra) Biebel Holznecht of Santa Ana, California went to heaven, joining her late husband Frank Holznecht, who passed away in 1979. Myra was a woman of great personal strength, tenacity, and honesty, always dressed to perfection. She took great pride in accomplishing goals she set for herself; one of those was to live to 100. Daily, while reading the morning paper, she would joke with a big smile of accomplishment, "I read the obituaries today, and no one is as old as me."

Myra was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on February 8, 1920. She was the daughter of Edward and Josephine (Verdegam) Biebel. Myra married Frank Holznecht, also from Green Bay, on September 27, 1941. She worked at Biebel's Grocery and for Northern Paper Mills before moving to Santa Ana. She worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and as a General's secretary during WWII. She retired in 1987 from the Orange County Probation Department, where she supervised their clerical team for many years. Her strive for perfection was her legacy, as her employees experienced the "it isn't right until it's right" work ethic. She was a passionate stamp collector, competitive bridge player and loved celebrating Christmas.

Myra was preceded in passing by her parents, Edward and Josephine Verdergam Biebel, her brother Loyal Biebel, and her sister Bernice Biebel Smith. She is survived by her children: Janice, Kathy, Gary, and Lori, her grandchildren: Heidi, Stephanie, David, and Jeff, and her five great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Diane Holznecht of Green Bay; her nephews: Ronald Smith of Racine, Randall Smith and Edward Biebel of Green Bay, Mark and Dan Holznecht in California and her nieces: Shirley Brozek and Jeanne Biebel of Green Bay, Pam Mason, Cindy Losse and Stevie Terrill in Wisconsin, and Kay Holznecht Aldridge in Kentucky.

The family will announce the Celebration of life services in the future. While Myra passed at home of natural causes, the family is postponing this event with respect to the current Covid-19 conditions.

In lieu of any flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your favorite charity in Myra's memory. Myra would have asked you to take an extra moment to express admiration and kindness to a loved one, knowing that every moment you have together is precious.
