Margie Dean Leffew Hughes, 85, of Tunnel Hill, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 7, 2020. She was born in Dayton, Tennessee to the late, Bob & Caroline Cox Leffew and had lived in the Soddy Daisy area for most of her life, before moving to the North Georgia area 7 years ago. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed collecting dolls and spending time with her family & friends. She was a loving and devoted sister, aunt and wife that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Alford; 2 sisters, Mildred Leffew & Robbie Jones and 2 brothers, Edgar Leffew and Archie Leffew.

Survivors include her loving husband, Edmond Hughes; brother, Herlie Leffew; sisters, Dixie Morris, Cora Bennett, Barbara Telford, Evelyn Spurgin, Shirley Hart, Sandra Barker, Kate Owens and Sherry Mills; special nieces, Trina Alford Dobbins & Diane Edwards; several other nieces, nephews and numerous extended family & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2020 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. Dennis Ray and Bro. Herlie Leffew officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 – 8 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
