When Josiah Cleveland was born on October 7, 1690, in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, his father, Josiah, was 23 and his mother, Mary, was 23. He married Abigail Paine on August 7, 1710, in Canterbury, Connecticut. They had 12 children in 19 years. He died on May 11, 1752, in Canterbury, Connecticut, at the age of 61, and was buried in Old Brooklyn Burying Ground (South Cemetery), Brooklyn, Connecticut.Josiah Cleveland, Jr. (1690-1750) was born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, the son of Josiah Cleveland, Sr. (1667-1709) and his wife Mary (Bates) Cleveland (1667-1709). In 1710, in Connecticut, he married Abigail Paine (1686-1762). A short biographical sketch of Josiah Cleveland, Jr. appears in "Commemorative Biographical Record of Tolland and Windham Counties Connecticut," in the "Biographical Sketches of Prominent and Representative Citizens and of many of the Early Settled Families," published in 1903, p. 925. His name also appears in the Cleveland Genealogy and the Morse Genealogy. Josiah Cleveland, Jr. died in 1750 in Canterbury, Connecticut. CHILD: Keziah Cleveland (1711-1758).
