Former Resident, Mrs. O. Schmehl, Dies In Daytona
Mrs. Otto Schmehl, 71, passed away at the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach at 4:35 a.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Schmehl was born July 9, 1886 in Middleburg and had lived in Daytona Beach for the past 22 years. She formerly lived in Sanford.
She was an active member of the Community Methodist Church, Daytona Beach, a life member of the WSCS of the Methodist Church, a member of the Peninsular Club of Daytona Beach, a member of the Daytona Beach Apartment House Association, a member of the WOW Auxilliary Camp, Sanford and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 2, Sanford.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. H.M. Nelson, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Merrill C. Straub Jr., Daytona Beach; Mrs. Leo Butner and Mrs. J.M. Garrett, both of Sanford; two brothers, John Geer, Daytona Beach, Fred Geer, College Park, Ga.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist Church with Dr. O'Alton Murphy of the Community Methodist Church, Daytona and Dr. R.E. Rutland of the First Methodist Church, Sanford, officiating.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
