She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (2013), and her daughter Nancy Poindexter (1991).
She became a nurse in 1972 and spent most of her career as the director of the Kennett LPN program. Betty loved life to the fullest and was happy in simple things. Walking the field roads, picking wildflowers, watching the crops grow, identifying birds she saw and picking up the perfect rock or two along the way. She was happy, content and loved her family, friends, and all animals especially her puppies.
She will be loved and missed by family and friends but her lessons in life she taught us will remain forever. She taught us to do a job well; That music can make any day better; To love life; To be generous and respectful to all people; To love Jesus and pray daily; To enjoy the work in life because wrkdays are part of life just like fun days are and if you don't love the work you will by unhappy; choose to be happy; And to remember that this world is just a testing ground and a training ground for our world in heaven.
Graveside services for immediate family and friends will be June 9, at 10 am at Kennett Memorial Gardens.
Betty is survived by her daughters Brigette and husband Nick Thiele of Leopold, MO, Pat Poindexter ad Juanita Nunoz of Boulder City, Nevada; grandchildren Adam Thiele, Anna and her husband Seth Ward; great granddaughters Aubrey Mae and Maggie Rose Ward, brother-in-law Larry Poindester and many nephews and nieces.
