L. V. Wilburn Death Victim –
Leroy V. Wilburn, 72, south of Markle, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Wells County Hospital, Bluffton, where he had been a patient since Sunday.
A retired farmer and member of the Markle Methodist Church, he had resided for 21 years five miles south of Markle in Rock Creek Township.
Born in Salamonie Township November 23, 1885 to George W. and Mary Jane (Decker) Wilburn. He married Winnie Fyson October 3, 1908 in Rock Creek Township.
Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Enid Overstreet and Miss Gwendolyn Wilburn of Winter Park, Fla., and Mrs. Olive Jones of south of Markle; a son, Glenn Wilburn, also south of Markle; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Wilburn, near Ossian, and two sisters, Mrs. Lorena Babcock, Warren Methodist Home, and Mrs. Julia Gordon, southeast of Markle. A daughter, Mary Evon Wilburn, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Funderburg Funeral Home, Markle. At noon Friday, the body will be taken to the Markle Methodist Church where it will lie until 2 p.m. services. Officiating will be the Rev. R. A. Fenstermacher, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Peter Webster, pastor of Buckeye Christian Church, south of Markle. Burial will be in Rockford Cemetery, north of Rockford.
