MRS. ZELLA J. SMITH DIES ON FRIDAY; SERVICES HELD SUNDAY
Mrs. Zella J. Smith, Callaway, died at Broken Bow, Nebraska on Friday, April 18, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Arnold on Sunday, April 20, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. E. N. Littrell officiating.

Loretta Atkins sang during the services, accompanied by Mrs. Mynor Smith at the organ.

Pall bearers were Don Smith, Bob Smith, Max Smith, Loyal Claudson, Dale Joy and Loren Dillon.

Burial was in the Garfield cemetery.

As Zella J. Dillon, Mrs. Smith was born at Seward, Nebraska, on November 24, 1875 and died at Broken Bow, Nebraska, on April 18, 1962 at the age of 76 years, four months and 24 days.

She was married to Seymore Smith on January 26, 1893, on Garfield Table.

Four children were born to this one union. One child and her husband preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith joined the Methodist church early in life and had her membership at Callaway at the time of her death.

She was active in the work of the church and community as long as her health permitted, and was a member of W. S. C. S. and the Royal Neighbor lodge.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Clark, and a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Gordon of Callaway; a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Russel, of North Platte. One sister, Mrs. Stella Smith of Arnold; three grandsons, Mitchell and Roger Gordon and Robert Russel; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.Pioneer of Custer Co.
