Larry Don Disspain, 66, of Riceville, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his residence.

The son of the late Leonard and Anna Lou Whitener Disspain, Larry was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. Larry served his country during the Vietnam Conflict as a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church and was retired from Bowater after 30 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Margaret Fain; son, Travis Lee Disspain; father-in-law, Edgar Lee Fain, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Fain.

He is survived by his son, Todd Disspain of Riceville; sister, Mary Ann Evans and husband, Boyd; brothers, Scott Disspain and wife, Sandra Jane, Jarrell Disspain and wife, Sandy, all of Etowah; mother-in-law, Ollie M. Fain; sisters-in-law, Belinda Cavett and husband, Terry, of Cleveland, and Pam Parker and husband, Ray, of Athens. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and good friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Fain Cemetery on Manila Chapel Road in Englewood with military honors.

There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
