Born in Chillicothe, Mo., Mr. Doty moved as a child to Sherwood and later to Aberdeen, Wash., with his family.
The family later moved to Portland and Mr. Doty worked for a barrel manufacturer in St. John's before going to work as a truck driver for Callahan and Derry meat market.
He later owned and operated the Multnomah Market in Portland and after selling it worked as a meat cutter for several Portland area supermarkets. He worked at Kienow's at Raleigh Hills when he retired around 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Doty of Portland; sons, Daniel F. Doty, Jr. and John V. both of Portland; sisters, Lucy Kermode, Westminster, Calif., Melisa Oliver of Portland; a brother, George Doty of Portland; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
