Deceased Name: Helen "Sunny" Smith Larsen PROVIDENCE, Utah - Helen "Sunny" Smith Larsen, beloved mother, passed away Feb. 9, 2002, at her home in Providence.

She was born in Providence to Joseph W. Smith Jr. and Helen McAllister Smith on Oct. 2, 1920.

She married Darryl M. Larsen on Oct. 1, 1939, in Providence. She graduated from South Cache High School and attended Utah Agricultural College.

Sunny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught in both the Primary and Mutual, and was a counselor in the Relief Society. She was a Cub Scout leader and den mother, and an enthusiastic little league mom, taking her team to every game throughout the valley. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Mathews DUP camp.

She was a skilled knitter and avid reader, and she inspired in her children a love of books and learning. She worked outside the home most of her married life, instilling by example an incredible work ethic. She had a droll sense of humor and delighted in making people laugh.

Sunny is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Matt (Joy) Larsen, and a daughter, Andrea (Don) Peterson; four grandchildren, Nicole Dollins, Melissa James, Jenny Bangerter and Devin Larsen; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Annabelle Fuhriman, Patricia Hugie and Judy Masters. She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandchild, Amie.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at noon in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel. There will be a viewing for friends and family one hour prior to services at Allen-Hall Mortuary.
