Verona Wright, 93, Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2010, at Grancare in Fond du Lac.
Verona was born on August 2, 1916 in Elba, Wis., to Paul and Cecelia (nee Frantz) Braatz. On Dec. 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Oliver R. Wright at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell. Verona was a housewife, mother and also worked seasonally at Green Giant in Beaver Dam. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, making jellies and baking molasses cookies for her grandchildren. She was a member of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell.
Verona is survived by her husband, Oliver Wright of Fond du Lac; her children, Ruth Weyer of Fond du Lac, Jean Ross of Neenah, Norman (Charlene) Wright of Mainville, Ohio, and Glen (Mary) Wright of Brownsville; 18 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister-in-laws, Bernice Beerbohn of Watertown and Cheryl Braatz of Arizona; her brother-in-law, Eugene Hahn of Reeseville, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Verona was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lloyd and Jerrold; three brothers, Arthur, Oscar and Orley Braatz; one sister, Lidia Hahn; and one son-in-law, Raymond Weyer.
A Funeral Service for Verona will be held on Wednesday, at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, 105 Juneau Road, Lowell, at noon with the Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will be held at the church after the service, followed by the burial, which will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton.
