She was the strength of her family, a beloved mother,grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her, as much as she was loved by all.Mrs. Nidiffer was a charter member of East Side Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Nidiffer; two sons, William C. and Paul E. Nidiffer; a daughter, Lilly Beatrice Nidiffer; three brothers, Wilburn, Harley and Herman Davenport; a sister, Evelyn Edmondson; a grandson, Randy Russell; a granddaughter, Diane Russell; and a greatgrandson, Jacob Grayer.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Marcella Nidiffer, Bluff City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and Ralph Grindstaff and Dorothy and Gene Oliver, all of Elizabethton; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday,
January 8, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. John Smith, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of East Side Christian Church and Jerry
Greene, soloist. Interment will follow in the Davenport Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and greatgrandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Friends may also call at the residence, 1267 Charity Hill Road, Elizabethton, anytime.
