George Babcock Dies in Hospital –

Report Came Yesterday of His Improvement – Lived in Nottingham Twp. –

Word came this morning of the death of George Babcock, 41, son of James Babcock of Nottingham Township, in Chicago. Mr. Babcock had gone to Chicago two weeks ago to be operated upon for bowel trouble and was at the Fort Dearborn Hospital. During the operation it was found necessary to operate for appendicitis also. Word came yesterday that Mr. Babcock was getting along fine and his relatives here were expecting a speedy recovery for him, when word came this morning of his death.

Surviving besides the wife are one child, Harold; the father, James Babcock, and four sisters and four brothers. They are: Mrs. Harley Lamson, west of Bluffton, Mrs. Sam Stopp, Jasper County, Mrs. Roe Yoeman, Jasper County, and Mrs. Robert Graham of Rock Creek Township; Elmer of Hammond, Tom at home; Frank of Nottingham Township and Homer.

The body will be brought to Petroleum for burial. Funeral arrangements have not been made as yet.
