He was a native of Swain County and a son of the late Conley and Mayme McCracken Wiggins. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired electronic technician for IBM and a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sister, Hattie Mae Potts and her husband, Eldon, of Franklin; two brothers, John Wiggins and his wife, Mary Jo, of Salem, Va., and Clyde Wiggins and his wife, Sue, of Franklin; and two nephews, Michael Wiggins and Rick Potts.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wells Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
