Mrs. Mildred L. Cooke, 66, R.R. 8, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon in her home.
Mrs. Cooke was born Sept. 18, 1910 in Chambersburg, the daughter of Mrs. Alice Shubert Cosey, R.R. 8 and the late Harry Rodgers. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose, No. 1627, Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles of Waynesboro. She retired from Franklin County Nursing Home in 1973. At one time, she and her mother operated Rodgers Dress Shop on South Main Street for a number of years. Her husband, Fred David Cooke, died April 13, 1963.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Sandra) Glass , 755 E. Washington St.; two grandchildren; four step-sisters, Mrs. Chester (Elsie ) Statler and Mrs. Eber (Catherine) Rife, both of R.R. 8; Mrs.Milton (Pearl) Stottlemyer, Stanley Ave.; Mrs. Wallace (Lucille) Myers, 581 Stanley Ave.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
