Thomas E. Richards, 333 Magnolia, pioneer Rialtan, died apparently of a heart attack at about 11:30 p. m. Monday, according to Coroner R. E. Williams, who conducted an investigation. Richards was born April 12, 1897, at Turley, Mo., and came to Rialto Jan. 1, 1914. In 1927 he married Miss Leatti Snelling at Spokane, Wash. For the last 12 years, he has been foreman of the Clark-Smith Gravel Co., West Fourth street, San Bernardino. He was a member of San Bernardino camp No. 7974, Modern Woodmen of America. Besides his widow, he leaves a daughter, Patty Ann; his mother, Mrs. Sally Richards; a brother, Bud Richards; and four sisters, Mrs. Lulu M. Mann of San Jose, Mrs. Nancy Howe of Costa Mesa, Mrs. Rachel De Pugh of Rialto, and Mrs. Phoebe Todd of Long Beach. Funeral services will be held at p. m. Thursday from the Simpson Funeral home chapel, with interment in Park cemetery.
