Mrs. Vertice Katherine Farmer, 91, passed away on May 29, 2020 in Madison, FL. Vertice was born March 24, 1929 in Perry, Florida to Mr. James Edward Scott and Mrs. Nancy Seay Scott.

Vertice enjoyed sewing, crocheting and working in her yard. She was one of the original founders of Pisgah Baptist Church.

Vertice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Farmer, her parents James “Jim” and Nancy Seay, a daughter Joeann Croft, a great granddaughter Kristie Shaw, three sisters Pauline Lundy, Lessie Vee Skipper, and Molly Scott, and a brother “Bud” James Lamar Scott.

She is survived by two daughters Jane Guzman and her husband Larry, and Kathy Stephens, one brother Morris J. “P.G.” Scott and his wife Patricia, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. Tommy Lundy officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Pisgah Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
