Maggie is found on the 1880 census in Lawrence, KS as a boarder and housekeeper for John and Nancy Walters. Her last name is York but it could be from a brief marriage instead of her maiden name as she claims to be the daughter of German immigrants. On 14 Jul 1885, she married Martin G White, a widower 34 years her senior. They had one son John Henry White, 1886. Martin died in 1895. On 18 Oct 1897, Maggie married Samuel Arterburn, a widower 27 years her senior. Maggie died in April 1902, after bequeathing her real estate inherited from Martin to her son John. She was buried on April 14. Samuel survived her by 7 years.
