Mr. Douglass, a building inspector for the Federal Housing Authority and an associate of Chickasaw Builders Inc., died Friday morning at Methodist Hospital in Memphis after a short illness.
He was born in Memphis and moved to Jackson when he was 5.
He was a 32nd-degree Mason and member of St. John's Masonic Lodge 332, a member of the Scottish Rite, Al Chymia Shrine Temple of Memphis and Jackson Shrine Club.
Mr. Douglass was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Jerine Douglass of Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. James Exum of Jackson; a brother, John Douglass of Memphis; and two grandchildren, Tommy Exum and Beth Exum of Jackson.
Active pallbearers will be Leonard Eliff, Howard Harris, Bob Hulon, Chuck Dolejs, John Hudson and Ray Coates.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hundley, Wayne Taylor and Gerald Arnold.
