ROGER D RADER
Funeral services for Roger D Rader, 83 of Aledo, formerly of Keithsburg will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Roger died at his home on April 16, 2017. Burial will be in Peniel Cemetery, Joy. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7 PM. Memorials may be made to the Keithsburg Christian Church of the Keithsburg Fire Department.
Roger Duane was born March 1, 1934 to Hattie Louise Rader, but was raised by his grandparents, Fletcher & Winnifred Rader. He married Garnet Harter on November 28, 1953 in New Boston.
Roger retired from John Deere Plow & Planter after 30 years of dedicated service. After retirement he drove truck for Liqui Grow of Joy. He was a farmer at heart and enjoyed helping out the Callahan family. Roger would help anyone and was a big help to Rev Reynolds during the Keithsburg Floods.
Roger started his Masonic membership with the Keithsburg Burns Masonic Lodge, then joined with the New Boston Masonic Lodge, AF & AM #59, of which he was a current member and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also part of the Valley of Moline Scottish Rite.
Those left to cherish Roger's memory include his wife, Garnet; children and their spouses: Ronald & Pam Rader of Orion and Lynn & George Howard of Aledo; Grandchildren: Kyle & Stacy Markey, Kari & Nick Robinson, Ashley & Ryan Bramlett and Austin Rader; Great-Grandchildren: Jade Market and Natalie and Graham Robinson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, 1 brother and 1 sister, and a grandson, Joseph Rader.
