Betty Claire Addison Sibley, 56, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 as a result of an electrical fire at her residence in Clinton.
Betty was born May 13, 1950, in Yazoo City, MS to Otis Christopher Addison and Evelyn Loraine Addison. She was raised in Benton, MS and graduated from Benton High School. After graduation, she attended Holmes Community College and was married to Lynn Sibley from 1970 until 1998.
Mrs. Sibley was employed at Unifirst Bank as a Branch Manager for over twenty years. She was a part of the Golden Girl Friends, which included Brenda Weed, Martha Brown, and JoKay Christopher. In 1982, Betty survived a bank robbery at the hands of "Mad Dog" Pruett in which she lost her best friend Peggy Lowe. She also went through the death of another close family friend, Felitia Ruark who died in 1991.
Her greatest past times included making people laugh and spending time with family and friends. She always strived to put others first and assist anyone in need. In her spare time, she loved going to the movies with her friends and playing Bunko. She enjoyed shopping for her granddaughter and loving her dachshund Mollie Jane. She and Molly Jane were inseparable, even until the time of their deaths.
Survivors include her father & mother, Otis Christopher and Evelyn Loraine Addison of Benton, MS; brothers Chris Addison of Bentonia, MS and Danny Addison of Owings, MD; daughter, Lori Clark and husband Ronnie of Clinton, MS; son, Brad Sibley of Houston, TX and her loving granddaughter Amber Nicole Clark of Clinton, MS.
Preceding her in death is her grandson Hunter Lee Clark of Clinton.
