Melvin Vance Schwartz, age 80, of Modesto, CA, died August 15, 1991. Memorial services will be held Monday at Lake Wood Funeral Home with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Hughson, CA.
Mr. Schwartz was a native of Hillsboro, IL and born October 07, 1910, a son of Guy Walter Schwartz and Idola Mae Edwards. He had lived in Modesto, CA for 33 years. He retired as an instructor at Gallo Class. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Ancient Egyptian Order of Sciots #15 and Accepted Masons in Milton Elks Lodge and Old Fisherman's Club.
Survivors are his wife, Pauline Ruth (Christian) Schwartz of Modesto; two children, Kay Bowers and Shirley Shoemaker both of Modesto. Two sisters, including Ruth Foster of Modesto. He had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
