His funeral was Aug. 2, 2011, at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ala. He is mourned by his family and friends.
Andy was a high school athlete in baseball and football, with a passion for the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field. He graduated from the University of Illinois and worked in Huntsville as a computer design and software consultant. Most important to him was being a loving husband and father. He was a baseball, softball and sports enthusiast with a passion for baseball from an early age. He made friends easily, and he will be missed by many whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers and his father.
He is survived by his wife, Eve; his children, Amalia and Ryan; his mother, Barbara Phend; his siblings, Toby (Maureen) Phend and Lori (Larry) Kimbrough; his nieces, Kylie and Madeline Phend and Ciarli Kimbrough; nephews, Darnell (210362438) and Robert James “RJ” Kimbrough.
Also survived by his grandmothers, Evadeen Phend and Lenora Quackenbush; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
