Michael and wife Hannah, buried at the 1st Mennonite Cemetery of Kitchener, Ontario

On the 5th of June, in Berlin Ont., of the infirmities of old age, Michael Z. Hunsicker, aged 74 years, 1 month and 27 days. He was born in Montgomery county, Pa. His funeral Sermon was preached by Joseph Hagy and Abm. Weaver from Jn. 14:12,13.

Michael obtained 40 acres in Ohio authorization of the 1850 Script Warrant Act, which would appear he obtained the land because of service in the War of 1812, however, he was a secondary party to Thomas Musich who did.

**Much of the pre1900 Hunsicker pictures and documents were preserved by our family historian, Georgianne Hunsicker Comstock # 131470012. Without her, we would know little about our ancestors. We most definitely would not have had any of the treasured ancestral pictures that we do if not for her. Georgianne once told me when I was staying with her a few days on her farm, some years ago a bolt of lightening hit one of the barn's and caught fire. They were able to put the fire out, and in the process found a large tin container hidden in the wall of the barn. Inside the tin was the most amazing family letters 1850-1900's, priceless pictures of 1808 wedding picture of Hunsickers, many pictures of family members who have been long gone was in that tin box. I was grateful to be able to scan everything, for now she is gone, Georgianne passed last year. She is now with the ancestors I search for in vain, I am sure she is enjoying every second of watching me as I uncover every stone.
God's peace be with you dear Georgianne, you made such a difference in so many people's lives, especially mine. Always remembered, forever loved.....
