She was born September 29, 1959 at Oswego to Virginia (Lyon) “Ginger” Wheat. Lisa grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1977 where she was a standout tennis player and a state qualifier in singles and doubles every year.
Lisa lived in Salina, Wichita, Chanute, and returned to Parsons in 2001. She worked at Tony’s Pizza while in Salina, at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, and at a furniture manufacturing company in Parsons.
Lisa enjoyed and excelled at playing tennis in her younger years. She especially loved her family and friends and making memories with them. Lisa also attended various churches in Parsons.
She is survived by her two sisters, Kim Tignor, and her husband, George of Andover and Lynette Long of Tulsa, OK; her brother , Brent Wheat, and his wife, Pam of Fairgrove, MO; her aunts, Sonya Johnson, and her husband, Carl of Parsons and Ruby Lyon of Andover; five nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; many cousins; and a special friend, Emily Alvarez of Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia (Lyon) "Ginger” Wheat; her maternal grandparents, Eloise and Lloyd Lyon; an uncle, Don Lyon, and an infant aunt, Marjorie Lyon.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Riley Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may come to the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at their convenience to sign the register.
